Foundations For Living

"There are two lasting bequests
we can give our children.
One is roots. The other is wings.”

--Hodding Carter, Jr.

The above quotation seems to embody a contradiction: roots hold us down, while wings allow us to fly.

Working with troubled youth, however, we realize that children can rise to their full potential only when they’re grounded in the rules of social behavior, and supported by a root structure
of values and attitudes that nurture self-discipline, responsibility and a sense of self-worth.

At Foundations for Living, we offer proven, pro-social programs that capitalize on the strengths of adolescents with emotional or behavioral problems. And we have talented, passionately dedicated professionals who can inspire troubled adolescents—even those who have failed in previous programs—to put down the dead weight of their past, lift their sights to the limitless sky…and soar.

Clinically focused treatment in a peaceful, rustic setting.

Few residential treatment facilities for youth, if any, offer the strong clinical orientation, the closely monitored programs or the special resident incentives provided by Foundations for Living.

Situated on 14 rolling, wooded acres near Mansfield, Ohio, Foundations for Living is a secure, mid-to-long-term residential treatment center for adolescents 12 to 18 years of age, with minimum IQ of 65. Our privately funded, 84-bed center (18 males, 66 females) is accredited by CARF and licensed by the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services.
